Hyderabad: (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) GHMC Commissioner M Dana Kishore on Wednesday directed the civic body’s Engineering Wing to ensure potholes are filled and roads repaired on a war footing.
During an inspection of road widening works at VST junction, the Commissioner directed officials to shift electric poles to better locations so that traffic is not affected. Kishore monitored the road repair works at Katta Maisamma temple, Lower Tank Bund, VST Junction, Ramnagar to Bagh Lingampally, DD Colony, Red Building Road, Shivam Road, ATI, Maredpally, St. Ann’s School to Malkajgiri and Malkajgiri to Moulali.
The GHMC Commissioner also instructed the officials to deploy instant repair teams, mini-mobile teams, mobile monsoon emergency teams and personnel from central emergency teams for early completion of roads repairs.
He said there are 252 such repair teams and if each one takes up at least 10 potholes a day, the entire repairing works will be completed in just few days. Officials were also directed to submit a detailed report of the works for immediate reference.
He pulled up officials for not executing the footpath works at Shivam Road in a proper manner.
